迈入八月了，

再多一个月，我就正式离职了。正式开始当老板的生活了。

回头一往，很多感触，很多画面一一呈现在眼前。

五年的医学院生涯结束，休息两个月，就立刻投入工作。
算幸运吧，就被派到不远也不近的医院。
当时，并不像现在那么多实习医生。
所以，工作量很多，永远做不完。
主任多数都是很凶的，实习医生就好像老鼠一样，整天挨骂，有苦自己知。

20 个月的实习医生生涯总算挨过了。
六点起身，工作从没停歇，包山包海。
一有什么差错，就被延长服务期。
真的是有惊无险！
间中，有两次的不愉快经验，差点就丢辞职信了。
还好，眼泪擦干了，大口大口吞下闷气，又继续工作。
(如果在实习期间辞职，日后就不能再行医了，需要另外考试)

升级为MO了，以为生活就可以有所改善。
原来没有の！
被留在儿科部门当MO, 遇到工作狂的上司。
我的天啊！
生活只有忙盲忙盲
搞到和上司翻脸了，终于也有机会被调到内科部门。

内科部门，一向就是我的喜爱。
因为我不喜欢动手术，所以只可以选择内科或儿科。
也算很幸运了，没有被派到Sg.Bakap or Kepala Batas 医院。

在内科部门当MO 两年，生活还蛮满意的。
准时8点上班，大小事吩咐下属去做，准时5点下班 (oncall day 例外)
上司同事都很好，大家好像一家人一样。
还有，很多药厂的sales rep 请我们吃大餐
当然，体重也慢慢上升。

眼看4年的compulsory service 快到了，
是时候做抉择了。
继续当个与世无争的MO (反正政府工是铁饭碗) ?
深造成为专科医生？ (路途很遥远，还需要多7-8年)
辞职出来和clinic 老板打工?
还是索性自己当老板？

终于，我选择了当老板。
虽然起头会很艰难，但是我不怕。
我知道，很多人在支持我，我对自己有信心。
不做罢不做，做了就要做到最好。

我从不后悔所做的选择。
我现在过得很好。

12 年不见了，今天竟然有缘再见

老师，一点都没变！

不好意思，当我还在犹疑她是谁时，老师就走来和我打招呼了

老师嘛，当然会认得我啦！她从小看我长大，整整有10 年时间

很多小时候学钢琴的画面涌上心头

甜酸苦辣，都有！

这个老师还蛮凶的，弹错可是有体罚的！还用长尺打手指呢！

虽然没有往音乐路途前进，可是音乐确实影响我的一生

妈妈讲，就是我小时脾气很爆燥，所以送我去学音乐

因为，学音乐的孩子不会变坏！哈哈！

Finally.....I've resigned from government service.

Well, I've wanted to quit the service for long long time ago.

All those suffering during my housemanship 'forced' me to make the current decision.

医生救人也错?

同事接到投诉，事情大纲是这样的。。。

有个阿姨，入院后病情恶化，需要及时插喉管急救。照例来

说，每次插喉管前都会告诉家人生存几率50%，再加上病情殆危，为了保住主要器官，分秒必争，不容许有耽误。家人同意了，继续抢救插喉管用呼吸辅助机器暂代呼吸。过后稍微稳定了，为了使病人能够舒服点，通常都会放药让病人睡觉，过后送到大医院。。。

投诉：没有让家人在插喉管前对病人说些话。。。。家人很愤怒！要当天的医务人员道歉！

病情危急时，一秒也显得珍贵，有稍微耽误，病人可能就永远醒不来了。。。如果家人有20个亲人，慢慢地等着大家一个一个见病人，她，早就“升天”了。。。

做了那么多抢救工作，换来的却是家人的无理取闹，没有一丝感恩。。。
可能还有更多类似的个案每天都在上演着，原来，在大马，医生救人，不再是个伟大的角色了，已经是个可以被找碴被唾骂的职业了。。。。
大马人真的是太幸福了，甚至忘记什么是感恩，怎样说谢谢了。。。常认为什么事情都是理所当然，不顺大家的意就只会投诉！送年老的父母入院后，就理所当然地当医院是廉价疗养院，直到可以出院时才出现，或是一拖再拖到老人病死后才出现。。。身体是自己的，暴饮暴食吸烟喝酒不劳作，到出了不能痊愈只能延缓病情的状况才怪医务人员为什么不能治好？？病情危急了又怪为什么送进医院会恶化，是不是我们没尽力，质疑医疗团队？？

医务人员的心血，换来的却是这些无聊的不满。。。有多少个病人家属会感谢？？很少。。。。

在Medical Unit待了一年半的时间，只有自己和另一个同事没有考MRCP，所以显得我们只是无名小卒。

也怪自己没有用心求进，只好靠一天复一天的经验来处理种种的病状。

最近，从其他同事口中得知麻醉科同事在称赞我的medical management, 还说我的management 比其他有考MRCP的同事更出色.

自己从来不知道，竟然会有人去注意我这位在Medical Unit虚渡光阴的人，更不会注意我的medical management。

虽然只是一句很不起眼的赞美，却让我深深感动。

4. 认识了一班可爱的朋友，让我察觉，原来自己的生活圈子可以再开放。

5. 开始想通了，并开始策划自己的前途。

Is ice-cream good for sore throat?

Myth always believe that whenever we have flu, we should avoid cold beverage.

However, if the severe sorethroat really trouble you, you have a good excuse to eat ice-cream. The cold ice cream has a numbing effect on the inflammation in the throat (which causes the "sore" effect), and the creamy textures make it easy to swallow.

Of course, there are other remedies for sorethroat.

1. Gargle with mouthwash or salt water
2. Suck on throat lozenges
3. Eat soft or liquid food
4. Add moisture to your environment with a humudifier
5. Take analgesic (pain killer)
6. Spray throat spray which contains numbing agent

在报章上看到很多关于Penang Starwalk的报导，就想去凑凑热闹。

报名费只是区区RM8 (non competition)，却拿到一件t-shirt，很一袋子的goodies，有饼干，糖果，CROCS RM30 voucher, shampoo sample packs.

难得星期日，我竟然五点就醒了，到PISA时已经很多车了，carpark也满了。

7.30am开始，很多人参加噢 ! 真的可以用人山人海来形容。

老少咸宜，是个很好的周日家庭日。

10 KM的路程，不会热，也不会累，因为有很多人陪我一起走。

1小时 45 分钟，到达终点!

Lucky Draw没抽中，可是却赢得难忘的回忆。

很棒的event，明年我还要再来 !

Early in the morning, just share with you all a story. A story about a foolish person.

Few years back, just because of an ordinary person, the girl tried everything that she never tired before. She suffered from heart broken, suffered from stress traumatic event. All these ended when the girl lost contact with that person, so sudden without a reason.

Now, the girl still lost contact with that cruel person. But, she discovered another similar soul. She inserted the similar sentimental element in the friendship. Again, she been turned down without any reason.

Who is the foolish person? The girl of course! why? Because she still hope she can meet the person one day....asking forgiveness from that person.

Right now 6.25am, I'm sitting in front of the computer in the oncall room.

I slept, but my junior HO woke me up to resuscitate a patient.

CPR done for 40 minutes, my patient passed away. Cause of death: acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
2 patients died of ACS today.

After that, I can't sleep again, so sitting here update my blog and seeing friends' blog.

Had my dinner at Flying Chillie, The Garden during my KL trip. It is a Thai cuisine restaurant.We tried the tomyam, fried sotong with Thai sauce, and Thai spicy chicken.

Not bad...but, very expensive.

Master Choo restaurant....at the Kulim Landmark Central Mall.

Sort of kopitiam style. You can get dim sum, noodles, rice....

Taste? so so...slightly salty

Price? about rm0.50 to rm1 more expensive than ordinary stall

Environment? so so only....too crowded. Many tables and chairs squeezed into a small shoplot.

Cleaniness? ok..4 stars

Overall, worth to have a try once.But, I won't consider it as a good choice.

3rd July...my 3rd anniversary in my current profesion.

Happiness + tears + broken heart .....

And I nearly dropped out in view of the extreme stress.

Starting from houseman, I worked 7 days a week, worked like crazy or perhaps like an Indonesia maid. 8-9 calls a month.

At the end of housemanship, that was the transitional period to promote to MO. And I almost dropped out because of an idiot boss.

Now, I'm the MO, and I work 5 days a week, unless I oncall on the weekend. The nice thing is...just 3-4 calls a month.

What's next? I don't know. I just don't feel like continue the current journey. Perhaps, another turning at the next junction will promise a better destination. God bless me!!!

Mother's day is on 10th May. These few days, a lot of family celebrate the day in restaurants. Hence, most of the restaurants are full house.

What have you prepared for your mother?

I'm from a conservative family. I almost never hug my mother nor tell her how much I love her. Every year, my family celebrates it by going out for dinner.

This year, I bought my parents a mattress. My mother always complaint of backache. The old spring mattress is nearly 20 years already. It's not good for back protection.

Ok...let's me buy them a new mattress. And my brother will pay for the dinner.

I think I heard about that quite sometime ago. However, I can stil see many drivers talking over the handphones while driving, and only one hand over the sterling wheel.

Is this the way of safety driving?

There is a device called "bluetooth" in this hi-tech era. With this, you can drive safely, and talking comfortably over the handphone for hours. In fact, it does not cost you too much. Just about RM100, you can save your life and others on the road.

How far do you know about consumer's rights?
Would you voice out if you are bullied by the irresponsible businessmen?

I accompanied my friend to PC Fair at Penang PISA last weekend. We wabted to get a laptop.
After exploring few booths, finally we chose the company which offered the best price.

The salesman wrote us an order form, where the laptop actually came with several free gifts. In the column for free gifts, he wrote down backpack........... plus carrying case. My friend and I were quite surprise, because other company actually only offer us either backpack or carrying case. We clarified again with the salesman.

"Yes, the carrying case is from Dell, and the backpack is the free gift from our company"
"Ohhh....ok."

Then, my friend went to pay the bill, before proceeded to the next booth to get the laptop.

The other guy helped us to get the ordered items. He ticked the items one by one after putting the items into the beg.

"Alright, this is your laptop and free gifts "
"Eh...where is the carrying case? "
" No, you can either get the backpack or carrying case."
"Huh? But you colleaguea has written there both in the order form and we actually paid the bill already."
"Wait, I'll ask the salesman."

After waiting for ages, finally the salesman came to us.

"Sorry, it's my mistake. You can either choose the carrying case or the backpack."
"No.....We must get the items that are written in the order form."
"But, we really can't give you the carrying case plus the backpack. "
"We are the consumers, and we have the rights to get the items which already ordered and paid."

"I really can't do anything even though you keep argue with me. Or else I return the money to you."
"Huh....why you are so rude?"

Later, he asked another staff to entertain us.

"Miss, we can't give you the carrying case. Unless, we deduct it from the salesman's salary. we shall deduct RM150 from him, and he earned RM60 a day, total RM180 for these 3 days PC fair"

"This is your company internal problem, you all settle among yourselves."
"Can you please considerate my condition? forgive me? " asked the salesman.

Hmmmm..........

"Sorry, you have to bear your mistake. I still insist to get what I suppose to have."
"Ok...deduct from my salary then."

Everyone has to bear the responsibilitie and mistake. No such things of apologize and let the mistake just vanish like that.

I'm a medical officer. And very often the people out there complaint about medical staffs.
